Writing for the Web

 

Learn and refine your approach to writing email and creating website pages (home, about, bio, services), blogs, articles and profiles. This three to 24-hour workshop is for participants who are seeking to learn or refine their online writing skills and are required to produce content for company websites, blogs or newsletters. The focus is on methodology, examples and hands-on creative writing.

Depending on workshop length, topics covered include:

  • Website creation: Home, About, Bio, Services
  • Blogs
  • Interviewing skills
  • Article writing
  • Profile writing
  • Addressing writing blocks

Delivery includes slide show, group discussion, partner work, examples

Goals: Participants will broaden and sharpen their understanding of what constitutes good writing, learn the fundamentals for writing for the web and what differentiates it from other types of writing, be introduced to/try their hand at a range of online genres, gain writing confidence and learn new tools.
